Happy Valentine's Day

Settings were aperture 4.5; SS: 200; ISO 250
Manual exposure 50mm 1.8 lens
AB800 to camera right and reflector to camera left.
This was the first time I used my seamless paper, so I wasn't really sure how that was gonna work out with one light. My poor husband was trying to hold Isabella in one arm and hold the reflector with the other one. I really got to get me a reflector stand. These are pretty much SOOC except I used an "S curve" action from Rita's coffeeshop. Because I have photoshop elements and it does not have "curves tool" like regular photoshop.
I see where I blew the whites in the pictures and I probably need to go back and fix that.

Sickness has hit my family hard

Wow it has been a while since I posted. Everyone in my family has been sick. Stomach virus to sinus infections.....ugh! Well I took some Valentine's pictures of Adriannah yesterday and I am going to post them soon. My laptop that has been giving me trouble has went out again....I want to throw it out the window. I am going to try to post those pictures later today.

Playing with my Alien Bees today

I wanted to get a few pictures of Isabella today using my AB's just to play around. Well I set them up in a spare bedroom (did I mention the bedroom is small) I metered and got my settings and done a few test shots and got her ready. I wanted a few naked hiney shots (I love babies) well she wasn't having it. So I turned on my little space heater (note to self warm up spot with heating pad next time)and finally I had to put a blanket down for her to lay on and then she peed on it (did I mention I love babies!) Didn't get alot of pictures she started to get fussy. I am pleased with a few of them but because the bedroom was so SMALL I really didn't have room to back up (I can't wait until I get my own house) So here are a couple. I will not post her naked hiney shots here.

Manual Exposure SS:200 Ap:5.0 ISO 250 Taken with my Nifty Fifty
AB 800 with softbox to camera right. Didn't use a reflector.

Love baby feet

I was laying in bed this morning holding Isabella and I was looking at her small precious feet and I said to myself I want to get a couple of pictures of these feet because they will never be this small again......*sigh* So I pulled out my macro lens and only got a couple of shots I like but I just did it for fun.....goal accomplished!! I love black and white pictures!! The processing is a different on both but I like them!!
BTW: She was awake when I done this and she would not stay still.....sheesh it was hard :)

Been MIA

Well I had to work three nights in a row, so I haven't been able to post. I will hope to get some pictures posted tonight or in the morning. I knew working 3rd shift I wouldn't get to post everyday and that is okay with me. My goal is to at least post 4 out of 7 days just because I have a full time job and I am am a wife and mommy :)
On the bright side while I had some down time at work I got to read a chapter of "Understanding Exposure" :)

Missed day 4/365 (so I am gonna cheat.....hehe)

Had to work yesterday and was to tired to post. This picture was taken a couple days after christmas with my daughter Adriannah and her new bike. My resolution is to spend more time with her. It just seems like yesterday she was born and now she is 7!!! They grow up too fast.

3/365 Resolutions

Theme: resolutions
MONEY!!!! Well I want to save money and pay off some bills. Having a baby is expensive....lol but well worth it! Love my children more than anything in this world and thank God he blessed me with two beautiful daughters and a great husband to be their father. I also was shooting this with my new MACRO lens (another resolution for another day) I hardly ever carry cash on me I always use a debit card so I was elated to find this money tucked away in my wallet. My husband was like "Carla why are you counting money and taking pictures of it?" HAHA
Manual exposure, 1/80 sec, f/6.3, ISO 800

365 Day #2

Following the theme on ILP 2010 study buddies: Something about me

This is a picture of my work badge and few things that I had in my uniform from work. I am a full time Registered Nurse at my local hospital. I work the night shift (another resolution this year is to get off 3rd shift)

Manual Mode: Aperture: 1.8 SS: 1/100 ISO: 2000

Still don't have my laptop back....I should get it back tomorrow. I never realized how much I would miss my photoshop!!

Goals for the month of January

I have yearly goals but I want to take baby steps because I feel I will get more accomplished this way ;)

By the end of January I want to have:

>completed the first two chapters of Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson

>finished the first two weeks of my online photography course (it is a 8 week self paced course)

I probably will post my goals for next month in a few weeks!!

Happy New Year

A day late getting started on my 365 because my laptop is getting repaired right now and it may be a few days before I get it back. So I will post a quick snap. I am going through withdrawals of not having my computer......lol

Aperture-priority AE, 1/125 sec, f/1.8, ISO Hi 4000 (I know that is a high ISO!!!)

It was getting dark and didn't feel like pulling out my flash.

This is one of my daughters Isabella she is 16 weeks. I am sure there will be more pictures of her to come. I also have another daughter Adriannah she is 7 going on 21.

I have a few goals this year regarding photography I will post them later.
